Every year, the same impatience returns a few days before the start of the school year: which class will I be in, with which classmates, what schedule? The ENT (digital workspace) of your institution can answer these questions even before the big day. However, you need to know where to look and, most importantly, have a functional account at the right time.
ÉduConnect and ENT: why accounts often get blocked before the start of school
Most students and parents now use ÉduConnect to access the ENT, rather than a specific identifier for the institution. This national portal centralizes access to Pronote, the digital workspace, and academic online services.

The problem is that many blocks occur at this stage. An unactivated ÉduConnect account, a wrong profile selected (parent instead of student), or an unsuitable “gateway” can make the ENT inaccessible. Have you noticed that when you type the name of your middle school followed by “ENT” in a search engine, several different links appear? Not all lead to the right portal.
To avoid this trap, always start from the official address provided by your school, the one that appears on back-to-school documents or on the middle or high school website. If you are using ÉduConnect, make sure your account is activated with the correct “student” profile. In case of doubt, as articles on Synopsis Mag remind us, the activation process takes just a few minutes with a valid phone number or email address.

Check your class on the ENT before the school year starts
Once logged in, the display of your future class depends on a parameter you cannot control: the date on which the institution publishes the assignments. Some middle schools and high schools make the information visible as early as the last week of August. Others wait until the first day of school.
Specifically, here’s where to look according to the most common platforms:
- On Pronote, access your student space, then check the “Personal Information” or “My Profile” section. The class name appears as soon as the administration has validated it in the software.
- On a regional ENT (Mon Bureau Numérique, Monlycée.net, eCollège, Mon ENT Occitanie), the class is often listed in the “Schooling” tab or directly on the home dashboard.
- On some ENTs, the provisional schedule is published at the same time as the class assignment, allowing you to see both the group and the times.
If nothing appears at the end of August, don’t panic. This simply means that the administration team has not yet updated the data. No action on the student’s side can force the display.
The provisional schedule, a reliable indicator
When the class is not yet visible, the schedule can serve as an indicator. If a schedule appears with specific subjects and time slots, it means your assignment has been made on the server side, even if the class name is not yet visible on your profile.
Be careful, a schedule displayed in August often remains provisional. Last-minute adjustments (room changes, course swaps) are common during the first week.
Streamlining school platforms: ENT, Pronote, and family portals
Institutions and local authorities are looking to reduce the number of digital platforms used daily. The recent trend is towards greater integration between the ENT, the school life software (Pronote, École Directe), and the family portal of the local authority.
For you, the student, this changes the game. A single entry point provides access to all school information: grades, absences, schedule, homework diary, and class assignment. Where you once had to juggle between three different applications, a single login via the ENT is increasingly sufficient.
This streamlining also explains why some features that were previously directly accessible on Pronote (by typing the URL in the browser) now redirect to the ENT. If your old shortcut no longer works, it’s probably related to this evolution. Go through your institution’s ENT portal rather than a direct link to Pronote.

What to do when the ENT does not yet show the class
You are logged in, your profile is correct, but the “class” section remains empty. Several reasons explain this situation:
- The administration has not yet finalized the distribution of students into classes. End-of-year class councils produce provisional lists, but adjustments (moves, exemptions, options) delay publication.
- The automatic feeding of the ENT from the academic student database (SIECLE) has not yet taken place. This data transfer occurs in waves, often in the last days of August.
- Your ÉduConnect account is active but linked to the wrong institution (a common case when changing middle or high schools).
In any case, contacting the school’s secretariat remains the most direct solution. A call or an email is usually enough to obtain the information, especially in the last week before school starts. Some institutions also post class lists by display on the day of the pre-school meeting.
Check the attachment of your account
If you change institutions, your ÉduConnect account must be linked to the new school. This operation is done automatically via the academic database, but it can take a few days. As long as the attachment is not effective, the ENT of the new middle or high school remains inaccessible.
To check, log in to the ÉduConnect site and consult the list of institutions associated with your profile. If the old institution still appears alone, the transfer has not been processed.
The ability to see your class in advance on the ENT primarily depends on the schedule set by each institution. Having an activated account correctly linked before the end of August remains the best way to avoid being blocked on the day the information becomes available. It’s better to take care of this as early as July than to discover a technical problem the day before school starts.
